Tenicity's Team

Tenicity’s Team is led by Founder and Program Leader Harsh Mankad, who brings over 35 years of elite tennis experience. Harsh combines his extensive background as a top-level player and coach to shape our innovative coaching methodology and drive both player development and program growth.

Founder and Program Leader, Harsh Mankad

  • Former NCAA Division 1 National Singles Champion and No. 1 ranked singles player in U.S. College Tennis.
  • Inducted into the University of Minnesota Athletics, M Club Hall of Fame in 2024, recognizing his legacy and influence in the sport.
  • Former ATP Professional tennis player with Top 100 singles wins and experience at all four Grand Slam events: Wimbledon, US Open, French Open, and Australian Open.
  • Winner of several ATP singles and doubles titles, including the ATP Manchester Open (UK) Singles Title on grass courts.
  • No. 1 tennis player for India and a member of the country’s Davis Cup Team from 2001-2010.
  • Founder and leader of Tenicity, establishing a comprehensive player development system for both recreational and competitive players.
  • Over 14 years of tennis program leadership experience with creating new programs, building teams, and guiding the development of hundreds of players. 
  • Head Coach of India’s #1 and Top 300 WTA Player, Sahaja Yamalapalli. 
  • Developed many of Northern’s top junior players since 2011, creating pathways for players to compete at national and collegiate levels.
  • Recipient of USTA’s Junior Development Award in 2023 for his exceptional contributions to tennis in the Northern region.
  • Mentor and coach to over 20 coaches who have gained valuable experience and training under his leadership, ensuring the highest quality of coaching across all Tenicity programs.
  • MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, bringing strategic and organizational leadership to tennis program management.

Favorite moment in tennis: Playing at Wimbledon.

  • 2 years of experience with Tenicity at all youth ages and levels including leadership to the Parks and Rec. Programs. 
  • Supporting Head Coach, Harsh Mankad with the development of Tenicity’s fitness curriculum and training methods.
  • Level 1 Coaching Certification through the Professional Tennis Registry.
  • Triphasic Sport Specific Coaches Certification and Triphasic Recovery Manual Certification in fitness training. 

Favorite moment in tennis: Watching Novak Djokovic win the 2023 Australian Open. It was quite a dominant performance whilst overcoming a hamstring injury.

  • Joined Tenicity in 2023 and providing coaching leadership to Tenicity’s Parks and Rec. Programs. 
  • Supporting Head Coach, Harsh Mankad with the development of Tenicity’s mental training curriculum and methods. 
  • Certified teaching professional by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA).   
  • Completed the Inner Game Essentials Workshop Certification led by the author of The Inner Game Of Tennis, Tim Gallwey.  
  • Completed Mindfulness Fundamentals and Mindful Educator Essentials Certifications from Mindful Schools. 

Favorite tennis memory: The first time I ever played tennis on clay on a family vacation to Captiva Island when I was a kid.  We played doubles rotating in and out with my two older brothers and my parents. I remember my brothers and I chasing balls down sliding on the clay and lots of amazing points. We had such a blast!

  • Edina High School Varsity player and student of Harsh Mankad.
  • Played Division 1 college tennis at Western Illinois University where she was the Captain of the team for 3 consecutive years. 
  • Coaching experience in Tenicity’s program and in Spain. 
  • Fluent in Spanish and planning for Law School in the fall of 2024.

Favorite tennis memory: Senior match in college when all my family and friends were there supporting me. They were there for the journey and at the end winning the match in the tiebreak was memorable with all of them and my teammates with me.

  • Joined Tenicity in 2023 and providing leadership to Tenicity’s Middle School Tennis Programs. 
  • Member of 1982 NCAA Div III National Championship tennis team at Gustavus Adolphus College.
  • Past instructor and coordinator at Tennis & Life Camps in Minnesota. 
  • Coached the Women’s Tennis Team at St Cloud State University.
  • Volunteer coach for underserved communities at InnerCity Tennis and Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center.

Favorite moment in tennis: When the St. Cloud State Women’s Tennis Team beat my alma mater’s heavily favored Gustavus Adolphus college team at Gustavus.
