Sahaja Yamalapalli - WTA Professional
Sahaja is currently India’s #1 Women’s Singles Tennis Player with a WTA ranking of 292. She is from Hyderabad, India and came to the US to play college tennis at Sam Houston State University in Texas from 2017-2021. After college, she pursued professional tennis and has recently entered the Top 300 on the WTA. From October 2024, she is being coached by Harsh Mankad.

December 2024
Sahaja played tournaments in Dubai, India, and Thailand during this month. Her best performances were reaching the semis in both Solapur (India) and in Thailand with wins over Top 250 players.

Sahaja worked on her tennis game and fitness in our program in Minnesota to prepare for tournaments in Asia from December onwards.
Week of October 21, 2024
Sahaja qualifies for the WTA 125 in Tampico, Mexico with a Top 200 win over Miriam Bulgaru (see match highlights below). She played the top seed, Nuria P. Diaz (WTA #97) in the first round and lost 7-5, 6-4 (see match highlights below).
Week of October 14, 2024
Sahaja lost a tough 3 setter in the 1st round of the ITF W100 Macon, GA event against Kawa Katarzyna (WTA 266).
After an initial training stint with Harsh Mankad at the beginning of the month, Sahaja teams up with Harsh for her coaching support.
Week of October 7, 2024
Sahaja reaches the quarter-finals at the ITF W35 event in Bakersfield, CA. She lost a tough 3 set match in the quarters to upcoming player and tournament winner, Amelia Honer. In the 2nd round, she won a 3 setter which lasted over 3 hours against former Top 300 player, Makenna Jones.

Sahaja spends a week in Minnesota training under the coaching of Harsh Mankad. Her tour schedule, game plan, specific tennis drills and areas for improvement along with athletic testing were areas covered during the training week.
