Rohan Kharbanda, a player who has been training and developing his game in Tenicity’s Program under the coaching of Harsh Mankad and our team, is a senior and plays for the St. Paul Academy’s Boys Varsity tennis team. His team qualified for the MSHSL Boys State Tennis Tournament (Class A). “St. Paul Academy and Summit School is the top-seeded team in search of a fourth consecutive state championship” (MSHSL, 2025).
Rohan plays doubles on the high school team and has been training with Tenicity for several years. He has worked hard throughout his time at Tenicity to grow in his game which helped him advance from the Junior Varsity level to the Varsity team at his high school.
State Tennis Title!
Rohan and his team competed at the 2025 State Tournament and won the Boys State Tennis Championship for Class A, making it their fourth consecutive state championship at St. Paul Academy. “Since 1965, no tournament regular at Minnesota’s boys team tennis state tournament has managed to do what St. Paul Academy accomplished Wednesday: win a fourth consecutive state title” (The Minnesota Star Tribune, 2025). What a perfect ending to his senior tennis season! Rohan’s post-high school plans include attending Carnegie Mellon University to study engineering. We are so proud of all that you have accomplished, Rohan!
Q&A With Rohan:
What do you enjoy about tennis?
I enjoy the community aspect of tennis and meeting new people. I like playing on a team through high school.
What has been a highlight from your experience training with Tenicity?
I enjoy taking one-on-one private lessons with Coach Harsh Mankad. I have found these lessons to be extremely helpful when seeking specific feedback to improve in my tennis game. I also enjoy long rallies and drills during my private lessons to further grow.
How has Tenicity impacted your tennis journey?
I have seen a lot of improvement in my game throughout my involvement in the Tenicity programs. With Tenicity’s help and support, I successfully advanced from the JV level to the Varsity team. Rallying games and drills provided me with an opportunity to grow and gain insightful feedback from Tenicity’s experienced coaches.
We are proud that as a trainee in Tenicity’s Program, you achieved the Varsity level at your High School team. What factors in your training helped you to achieve this new level?
Being a solid doubles player factored into achieving this level. Having good volleys and serves helped me to stand out on the court. Being a good teammate by cheering on others helped bring positive energy to the entire team dynamic.
What coaching tip has helped you the most?
Stepping in when hitting groundstrokes and being balanced has allowed me to be more grounded and stable while hitting through strokes. This has also allowed me to get more power.
You and your team qualified for the Class A: Boys State Tennis Tournament, after winning Sections. What are you most excited for at the 2025 State Tournament?
My team and I are hoping to win the State Championship for the fourth year in a row. I am excited to potentially play Breck as they have been strong competition for our team in Class A.

What would you like to share with other youth players who may be considering playing and learning tennis?
Put in the time, the practice, and work hard everyday. This will help you achieve your goals, both large and small.
