
Tenicity Beginner Tennis Programs
Tenicity’s Beginner Programs aim to grow youth participation in the lifelong game of tennis. The training will be focused on learning the game’s fundamentals with progressive skill development.
- Builds foundational athletic skills and movement.
- Groundstroke (forehands and backhands) fundamentals.
- Learning the basic structure of the game.
- Players build engagement, listening skills, and cooperation in a group setting.
- Fitness development.
- Further stroke development on the groundstrokes and introduction to technique fundamentals on the serve, return, and net play.
- Understanding of singles and doubles play.
- Players develop their social skills with meeting new players, being polite and respectful, and contributing to a positive and encouraging environment.
- Fitness development with agility and basic strength exercises.
- Stroke development with higher consistency and placement.
- Match play readiness with stroke play on full size court (as per age group) and knowledge of the games rules and scoring.
- Demonstrates timeliness for lessons, gives a strong effort, and developing a positive attitude and experience in the game.
Each year, our programs introduce to the game and develop over 500 youth ages 5-17.
Youth Beginner Summer Camps & Group Lessons
Beginner Camps (ages 8+) Location: Jim Peterson Athletic Complex in Blaine
Days: Monday – Thursday each week for the dates below.
Camp times: 9am – 12pm
Dates in June: June 9 – 27
Dates in July and Aug: July 14 – Aug 1 and Aug 11 – 29.
Beginner Group lessons (ages 5-8): offered during the above camp weeks and days from 12.15-1.15pm.

Beginner Group Lessons (ages 5+)
Location: Hidden Oaks Park Tennis Courts in New Brighton
Days: Tuesdays and Thursday evenings from 5-8pm (1 hr classes for 3 different age groups)
Summer Session 1: June 10 – July 17
Summer Session 2: July 22 – Aug 21

Location: Countryside Park Tennis Courts in Edina
Days: Monday – Thursday each week for the dates below.
Camp times: 9am – 12pm
Summer Dates: weeks of June 16, July 7, July 21, and August 4
Beginner Group lessons (ages 5-8): offered during the above camp weeks and days from 8-9am.

Location: Valley View Park Tennis Courts in Bloomington
Days: Monday – Thursday each week for the dates below.
Camp times: 1 – 4 pm
Summer Dates: weeks of June 16, July 7, July 21, and August 4
Beginner Group lessons (ages 5-8): offered during the above camp weeks and days from 4-5pm.
